The old me saw you coming and began running from you in a  wild race 

Scared of what you might find if you looked closely , I tried to leave in haste 

But you still followed me in this love chase 

You came in feeble and even without trust in this place 

Yet, you stayed in with the  faith that you can hold this lion[me] with your lace 

You didn't flinch when I roared and you still  stayed closely to my heel in the race 

I started to wonder if just maybe you only  adored the heat and not really there for a piece of me 

I tried my best to knock you off your high seat 

Thought that maybe if you fell, you wouldn't want to go the next lap with me in the race,or that's what I thought   

But you saw me, not the man I pretend to be, the real me is what you always  sought 

I realised you were there for me to heal 

I've suffered  through many  chaos so I question love,

For love to be  being proven 

Than just accepted like blind faith 

You came in, didn't fear or hate me but rather calmed me 

I looked at you and I saw you would have gone through the dark with me 

You came in and stayed in, I felt pure glee like it's my anniversary even through all life's constant ambiguity 

I am no more going to doubt your love for me 

Maybe I didnt know what  true love seemed

For that kind of love, Lady,  I am still green.
